Kashmere High School Honors History While Building Future Leaders

Since 1957, Kashmere High School has served as a cornerstone of Northeast Houston, now driving toward an A rating under the motto "Lead, learn, and achieve." The campus utilizes the New Education System (NES) model to deliver rigorous classroom instruction paired with diverse community-based learning opportunities. This dual focus ensures students are equipped with the skills and experience necessary for both professional careers and collegiate success.

HISD Expanding Access to 16 High-Demand Career Programs Through Barbara Jordan Career Center

Houston ISD is expanding its Career and Technical Education (CTE) offerings for students at ten high schools through the Barbara Jordan Career Center, the district's centralized hub for industry-aligned career training. Starting next school year, Furr, Heights, Sam Houston MSTC, Kashmere, North Forest, Northside, Waltrip, Booker T. Washington, Mickey Leland, and Wheatley High School students will now have access to 16 programs of study beyond what is available at these schools.

HISD Exploring Increased Autonomy Opportunities for Top-Performing High Schools

HISD is exploring Level 5 Autonomy for its highest-performing high schools under Texas Senate Bill 1882. To qualify, campuses must have earned an "A" rating for four consecutive years and maintain an achievement gap of less than 25% between student groups.
