School History
Our History
Kashmere High School holds a rich legacy rooted in the heart of Houston’s Fifth Ward and Trinity Gardens communities. Established in 1957, Kashmere has long stood as a symbol of pride, resilience, and academic excellence for generations of students and families in Northeast Houston.
Named after the surrounding Kashmere Gardens neighborhood, the school has served as a cornerstone of the community — producing scholars, athletes, artists, leaders, and changemakers. Over the decades, Kashmere has grown not only in size and structure but in spirit and impact, with alumni who have gone on to make meaningful contributions in education, business, politics, the arts, and beyond.
The Fighting Rams are known for their grit, talent, and unity — from the legendary Kashmere Stage Band that gained national recognition in the 1970s, to recent academic and athletic achievements that continue to inspire excellence.
Today, Kashmere High School remains committed to honoring its past while building a bright future for every student who walks through its doors.
Once a Ram, Always a Ram.
